What Verified means

Effective November 2, 2026

Verified means Next Play checked this business's license and documents on the date shown. It is not an endorsement or a guarantee. We do not recommend, supervise, or take part in any business's services. Next Play is a directory. Everything between you and a business happens directly between the two of you.

What Verified means, and what it doesn't

How verification works

  1. The business claims its listing or creates a new one.
  2. It uploads the documents for its category and confirms the details are true.
  3. Next Play reviews the submission, within 7 days, and may ask for more information.
  4. If approved, the listing shows the Verified check mark and the date it was verified.
  5. Next Play re-checks at least every 12 months and when a submitted license or insurance policy expires. The business gets reminders before each date.

When a check mark comes off

We may remove the check mark, or the listing, at any time if a license expires or is disciplined, documents are not renewed, information is found to be false, we receive credible complaints, or the business breaks the Business Listing Agreement. Removing a check mark is at Next Play's discretion and is not a finding about the business.

Do your own research

Before you work with any business, verified or not:

  • check its license yourself on the state board's website;
  • ask about fees, qualifications, and experience with athletes;
  • read reviews and ask for references; and
  • if you are a current athlete, ask your compliance office before accepting any discount or offer.

Report a concern

If a listing is wrong, or you have a concern about a business's conduct, email info@makeyournextplay.com or use "Report this listing" on the listing. We review every report, but we do not mediate disputes or get involved in your relationship with the business. If you believe a licensed professional acted improperly, you can also file a complaint with their state licensing board. In an emergency, call 911.

Listing details by category

Every listing shows its name, location, phone, email, website, and Verified status. Each category then adds its own details and carries its own notice, because a therapist, an insurance agent, and a personal trainer need to tell athletes different things.
